Supermarket security guard hit by car in bid to catch thief in Lincoln …

A security guard has been hit by a car in his bid to catch a thief at Morrisons supermarket in Lincoln.

A theft occurred at the store in Tritton Road at around 7.35pm on Saturday.

The suspect got into a black vehicle after being chased into the car park by the security guard.

The car then hit the security guard, carrying him a short distance on the bonnet, before driving away. He sustained an injury to his ankle.

A 25-year-old local man and a 30-year-old local woman were arrested a short time later on suspicion of theft and dangerous driving. They are currently being interviewed at Lincoln Police Station.

PC Steve Parker would like to speak to anyone who was in the car park at the time of the incident and who witnessed the events. Anyone with information should contact him by calling 101 and quoting incident number 439.
